On Halloween night with our costume on you will hear remarks like : ” Hey, you’ll never guess what I saw walking down the street!!!! A table!!” Yes, a table complete with lamp, a cup of milk and a book to read casually placed on top.
This Homemade Table and Lampshade Halloween Costume Idea was quite simple to make. All that was required was a large cardboard box, an old lamp shade, a black table cloth, a book cover, a clear plastic cup with glue in it. Cut out a side of the box into circular table top shape. Place the table cloth on top and hot glue the fake book and cup of milk. Cut a hole in the middle of the table top large enough to accommodate your child’s head and neck. Stick the lamp shade on top of your child’s head ( you may have to stuff the lamp shade with a cardboard ‘hat’ to keep the lampshade perched high on the head and to prevent it from totally covering your child’s face). My daughter decided to wear vampire fangs to give the costume an extra ‘scare-ability’.
omg I actually searched for this because… I went as a table in 1976 as a 10 year old
such a surreal, yet poignant subversion —
