There were four of us girls that wanted to create an inexpensive, but great-looking costume for this Halloween. We immediately had Homemade Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Group Costume Ideas, because there were four of them and everyone loves the turtles! We brainstormed ideas and decided we wanted dresses. We also wanted our shells to be book bags so that we could carry around what we needed, like a little purse! Last, we knew sparkly and flashy was a must!
We purchased a bunch of different kinds of sparkly materials. We got green for the dresses and brown for the belts. In the middle of the belts we got a shiny black for our buckles and gold to cut out our initials to place on the center of the belts. We also used the gold for our abs. We puffy painted brown abs on the gold material and sewed them to our dresses.
We got red (Raphael), purple (Donatello), orange (Michelangelo), and blue (Leonardo) materials, each for a different person. We used that for our masks and arm bands. Last, we got a shiny lime green material and puffy painted the shell on it. We sewed glitter green material over the top of it and yellow material on the inside half way to the top so it could hold things inside. We sewed some lime green straps on, and we had a turtle shell and a book bag! We also had the proper weapons that our ninja turtle used. Other than the stick for Donatello, we had to purchase them; they were just too hard to make!
Love the idea! Where did you find the shiny green material for the dress and backpacks?
Thanks.
