I love to make my daughter’s costume every year and this Halloween was no different. Although this Homemade Toy Story Jessie Child Halloween Costume Idea was not a unique costume idea it was however hands down the best two Jessie costumes out there. I made 1 for my daughter, Olivia, complete with red hat and yarn wig in a ponytail, the other was for our dog princess, she also had a red hat with the red yarn ponytail.
I purchased all my fabrics at my local JoAnn fabrics. They had the perfect cow print for the chaps and I used a ¼ inch elastic sequence trim for the border to add some extra flare too the chaps. I used a black interface to stiffen the chaps and sewed on the black sequence trim. I attached them just from the top to some straight leg jeans. I used an already made white collared long sleeve shirt and used Sew Classic Silky Solid-Silkessence in yellow that I cut out in the patterns for the shirt embellishments and added white interface. I then used a simple one row red sequence to add the designs to the front of the shirt and the cuff links.
I made the hat out of felt and used Westrim Professional Series .018” 49-Strand wire to help the hat maintain its form. I made the trim for the hat with white string that had silver speckles to give it a little flare. I made the yarn wigs by measuring a long enough piece to go around her head and down to the ponytail. Once I had enough to cover her head I laced through a few pieces of yarn to make the center then pulled it back and made the ponytail and added the yellow bow.
The dogs costume was similar but I did not add the sequence to hers because she would have chewed on it. I did not make a full wig for the dog I simply made a small pony tail which I attached to the hat.
