I love the story of Alice In Wonderland so, for our work Halloween costumes, a friend and I dressed up in Homemade Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Costumes.
We went to a used bargain store and found red sweat pants for under $5. Then we bought cheap, extra large yellow T-shirts. The collars/bibs were easily sewn, and we wrote the names of the characters on them with marker and pinned them to our shirts. I tied some blue fabric I had bought into a bow. We bought a big bag of fabric stuffing and stuffed ourselves fat, making sure that only our middles were round.
The hats were little circles of felt that I glued together in a cone shape. I cut a blue straw for the flag pole, and the flag was just yellow paper. We pinned orange felt to the hat for hair, wore black shoes, rosied our cheeks and drew on freckles.
It was so much fun; we laughed at ourselves so much as we scuttled around working and the customers’ responses were great!
