Cool Homemade Ursula Costume

I made this Homemade Ursula Costume for my daughter’s costume party. I asked her what she want’s to be and she said Ursula because she was watching The Little Mermaid cartoon. I’m good with hand sewing so I didn’t use anything else but my two hands, needle, yarn and old materials.

First I started with measuring. Ivona is four years old so it was pretty easy for amateur like me to do it. I made the costume in two parts. Top part was made from old blouse. I sewed an old bra and covered it with black material so it looked like a dress. Lower part was the tricky one. I took filling for pillows and sewed it part by part until it had required shape and at the end I sewed black material over it and made it look like skirt.

Then I made tentacles the same way, upper part black, lower pink and fixed it on skirt. Wig was made of thick sewing yarn fixed on old cap. Trident was made of carton. It took me a lot of work, but it was worth it because at the end Ivona was so happy and looked so good in it that nobody couldn’t believe that I made it. I hope this picture will be good enough, I couldn’t make better one.
