Why do other Ursulas think a Purple Long Sleeved Shirt and a tube top constitute a valid Ursula Costume? She is the b.a. of the Disney Villans and deserves a b.a. costume!
I took my inspiration from the Broadway Production of The Little Mermaid and came up with a hoop skirt, and over skirt, huge stuffed tentacles, corset, fingerless gloves, wacky hair, hand sculpted shell necklace and earrings – all hand made by me! To top it off, I wore my heelies so that I looked like I was floating instead of walking!
Each tentacle has three hangers in it to make them pose-able. The fabrics for the underskirt and the webbing change color with how you look at it.
The hoop skirt is made with irrigation piping instead of boning because the tentacles are quite heavy.
The shell necklace is made from three colors of sculpey smooshed together and the earrings are also made from sculpey.
My wacky hair is made from 12 gauge wire and a wig I found conveniently the same color as my own hair. I cut the wig apart and gelled and wrapped it around the wire then wove my own hair into it once it was time to get ready.
Am I missing anything? Just that this was the most fun and this Homemade Ursula the Sea Witch Halloween Costume Idea was one of the easiest I’ve ever made!

Ursula is my costume choice this year for Halloween, yours is one of the better looking ones I’ve seen. Most people do the floppy tentacles or so the underskirt sea but I haven’t seen one as good as yours. Well done on the tentacles especially. Going to use yours as the main inspiration for mine. WELL DONE!
