Coolest Homemade Wall-E Child Costume

Ok, so due to the economy we are super broke. I decided to make my 4 year old the best costume ever, because I can be VERY creative at times! :) I got together some recycling and a big cardboard box, a hot glue gun, and VOILA… created a homemade WALL-E child costume! My son LOVES Wall-E.

I mostly used Enfamil containers (3 different sizes), 2-2 liter bottles cut in half, 2 liquid laundry detergent caps (for the eyes) and corrugated cardboard (for the tracks). I hot glued the round containers and the cut up 2 liter bottles and glued them all on the sides of the box in a triangular pattern. I wrapped cut strips of corrugated cardboard around said triangle and glued that together. I cut a hole in the bottom of the box for my son’s head, and cut out a flap on the front of the box to open and close to look like Wall-E’s trash compactor door. I attached a string and button to this flap so my son could open and close the flap from the inside.

I hot-glued the 2 largest Enfamil containers together at an angle to resemble Wall-E’s eyes. I used white construction paper to make the whites of the eyes, cut holes in that and added the detergent caps inverted after painting their outsides black. Glued ’em in the holes, added some Styrofoam arms, painted it all up… first with spray paint, then acrylic for details.

We all LOVE this homemade Wall-E child costume, and can’t wait to SHOW IT OFF!
