Last year my daughter was obsessed with all things WALL-E. So, naturally, she wanted a Homemade Wall-E Halloween Costume. I found a costume by Disney, but it was way over priced and not that cute. I figured WALL-E is just a box, so I found the right size, that was not too bulky and spray painted the yellow, and hand painted the other details (I used crumpled newspaper to make some dirt on the bottom.
I stapled some felt straps to keep it up (criss-crossed the back for more security.) The eyes are made from craft foam and glue and lenses are actually plastic from a soda bottle that I heated up under a small flame to flatten and I covered that with purple cellophane I glued the whole thing to a black headband.
For the finishing touches I used felt for the gloves, felt is the best, no sewing required, just glue! I made two identical claws and cut a little thumb slit on each one. You can’t see it in the picture, but I made a black and yellow striped piece for her arms. It does take a little time but she loved it and she got so many compliments, it really is worth it!
this is the best home made Wall E ever!!
Your costume didn’t look like it was hard to make. Was it a box or panel(a flat board)?
it is a box shape, I cut out a U shape on both sides so she could put her arms down a little!
