In 2009 my 9 year old daughter wanted to be our beloved Red Sox mascot “Wally the Green Monster”. I made a gigantic paper mache head by using an extra large balloon covering it with paper mache, letting it dry and then deflated the balloon. Then covered the head with green furry material, printed Green Monster on sticker paper and stuck to the back of the shirt, red belt, blue shorts and red sneakers worn over an inside out green sweatsuit.
She was like a minor celebrity in her Wally the Green Monster Red Sox Mascot Costume on the street Halloween night.
If you’re finished using your great Wally costume, any chance you’d like to to donate or sell it to be used at games for children with special needs? This would be used to cheer on the kids playing with Miracle League in Boxborough.
Thank you, Randi
I would love to buy or rent this costume as well for my son’s 3rd bday party. If you are interested please let me know! My number is 617-678-0284. Thank you!!!! Kate
