Coolest Homemade Werewolf Dog Halloween Costume Idea

This is Hurley. He is a one and a half year old Mastweiler which is a cross between a rottweiler and a mastiff. He is a very laid back boy but when he plays with my puppy he looks like a wolf due to his extremely large canines. This is what gave me the homemade Werewolf Dog Halloween costume idea.

I purchased some brown fur to contrast with his own black fur and some red and black check fabric to resemble a shirt. After taking his measurements I sewed a fur hood that slipped over his head. I attached ears with hot glue and glued them back a little to make them stand up. I then sewed on the chest and hot glued on pieces of check fabric to resemble a torn shirt. I added detail like a collar, sleeves and buttons using hot-glue.

To make the feet I used plumbing pipe insulation which is very lightweight. I cut it into strips and formed the shape of each toe. I then hot glued them together and covered them in fur. Be sure to use low temperature hot glue or it will melt the pipe insulation. Claws were then glued on made from black craft foam.

The legs were made from rectangular pieces of fur cut to the length of Hurley’s leg. I hot glued the feet onto the bottoms of each and added velcro to the sides so that they wrapped around his legs. This was done so that the oversized feet sat on top of his own paws.

This homemade Werewolf Dog Halloween costume was very easy to make and involved very little sewing. We think Hurley makes a not so scary but very adorable werewolf.
