Coolest Homemade White Witch Costume from the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

When I was watching the movie the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, I immediately thought what a great costume when I saw the white witch.

I found an angel costume at Wal-Mart and used the dress portion of the costume for the dress you see in this picture. I then went to the Christmas section and bought icicle garland and icicle branches. I sewed the garland to the bottom of the skirt and used the branches to make the crown.

I bought a child’s play princess crown at the dollar store and hot glued the icicle branches to it, building them up on top of each other so it just looks like crystals. Then since my dad works with electronics he was able to cut a strand of Christmas lights and re-wire them to a 9V battery and a switch. I hot glued the lights into the back of the crown so that it looked extra sparkly.

My friend’s mom offered to help me with the cape. She sewed the white fur together using a king’s robe pattern. I bought the silver sparkle tights and silver sparkle eye lashes at a Halloween store.

The costume cost: $40

Lots of people who never saw the movie just assumed that I was an Ice Queen. Another note, this costume was great since it was snowing out, the fur robe kept me plenty warm when I was out on the town!
