To make the Joker Halloween costume (the Jack Nicholson version)I had to find a light coloured jacket to fit a 7 year old as I do not sew. This was no easy task as I did not want to spend a lot of money. I searched everywhere and finally found one in a charity shop.
I took the jacket and a beige pair of trousers that my son already owned and dyed them purple. I then found an orange t-shirt, you should really use an orange shirt but I could not find one and did not want to dye one as it had to be cheap and the dye is expensive.
I sprayed my son’s hair green and used white face paint for the whole of his face and then drew on the lips with a red lip pencil. He did have a green neck tie which I made out of material but we forgot to put it on for the picture. The joker does sometimes wear a hat but I did not bother with that as I wanted the green hair to be on show.
The whole outfit cost about $10 including face paint and took about 2 hours but that was because I had to dye the clothes.
