At JAFAX’s anime convention, I had a large audience and lots of applause, usually people circled around me with their cameras to take some more photos. I made this Lugia Pokemon Kigurumi costume from fleece, thread, printable fabric for the eye, foam, interfacing, a zipper, gloves, campfire sticks, duct tape and plastic curtain parts.
I eyed the pattern and went by my visualization. Since I own the world’s largest Lugia collection this was not very hard for me to find reference and knowing exactly how the wings and fins look like. I made the eyes from a computer program and a tablet pen where I printed them out and ironed them on the eye fins. The head has interfacing to keep its shape. The foam was only used in the tail fins along with a custom jointed flat piece of wood to keep its shape and to remove easily for the washing machine.
