This Mad Hatter Halloween Costume was homemade. The only things purchased were the leather jacket and the hair. The lace on the sleeves was sewn onto the jacket, as well as the ribbons and hankie hanging from the jacket pocket. The hat was made from poster board, two layers of fabric hot glued on and spray painted, flowers, and the hat card.
The hat brim is a clothing hanger put in a circle with fabric tucked around it an hot glued to the inside of the hat. The ribbon around the hat was dyed with teabags and tied in the back of the hat to hang. The bow-tie is an old dress-up dress tied like a bow. The bandolier was made from an old belt, yarn, and many spools of thread. The collared shirt, vest, socks and shoes were found at home, no alterations. The pants was khaki pants- cut, dyed, and spray painted. The eyebrows were cut from the hair and applied with eyelash adhesive. The paint for the face was stage paint.
