Coolest Mad Hatters Homemade Costumes

I dressed my boys up for world book day this year as the film was just being released – I decided to create the Johnny Depp mad hatters homemade costumes.

I got some old shirts and a waist coat for my oldest. On the waist coat I decided to sew a white rabbit (in the film I think he has a bird but too difficult for me, lol). I added some buttons, a large pin, some spare cotton and ribbons attached to the pocket. I then did a cotton-reel belt by just adding lots of reels to a ribbon.

For my other son I got a cheap blazer, added buttons, sew a white rabbit and sewed on the reels (as he would mess with the belt too much). To the sleeves I added some ribbon for both boys.

They both wore tight pants too small for them and stripy odd socks.

The hats I bought off eBay, added some ribbon and feathers. For the hair – I bought one wig and cut it up and glued to the hat (saving money and the boys messing to much with a wig).

They wore there school shoes (already dirty and scuffed), some of my best makeup, and the look was complete!!!! Everyone loved there mad hatters homemade costumes and they even got in the local paper, lol!
