I wanted to make a medusa costume that would stand out and wouldn’t make me look awkwardly bald like so many of the fake snake hair wigs do. I started out with a bag of 150 plastic snakes and set about attaching them to 5 black headbands that would be connected to create a sort of cage on my head. These were placed underneath the hair, the makeup was done by me over about an hour and a half, contacts added, and then the toga, which was made by me out of black satin and gold ropes, was worn. Accessories such as snake earrings and bracelets were worn.
Medusa was born.
Hi there – love the costume! I’m curious to know what type of headbands you used and how you attached the snakes. Thanks!!
