Greetings from the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico USA! I have ALWAYS wanted a costume from “Moulin Rouge” and this Halloween, I decided to make a Pink Diamonds Costume. Now, I’m not a seamstress so I had to just use my smarts and imagination to put everything together. With my mom’s help, LOTS of money and time later, I produced a costume I’m quite proud of! I took materials from EVERYWHERE and painstakingly sewed and glued everything by hand! What work but SOOOO worth it!
“Moulin Rouge” is one of my all time favorite movies! I think Baz Lurhmann is a genius and that Catherine Martin, the costume designer, is magnificent!
The total cost of my costume was right at $230. I haven’t decided if I’m going to sell it or keep it yet. After working so hard, it’ll be difficult to part with it, but I’m not sure if I’ll ever get to wear it again. I think it’s the best costume I’ve EVER had! Thanks!
hi! please let me know how you did the feather bit at the back, I’m making one of these for my birthday outing!thanks, Sarah.
Wow what an incredible costume! And you look gorgeous in it!
Oh my goodness! THAT’S AMAZING!!! And so accurate too!!!
So where did you start? I’m going to try to make my own version as well. What was hardest to do? Yours is stunning! You should be proud!!!
