My son Landen wanted to be a mummy this year. Instead of just wrapping him in gauze I took white fabric that I had on hand and ripped it into strips. I then soaked the strips in tea overnight, in the morning I put them in the dryer.
I bought a pair of stretch pants at Walmart for $3.88, bought a long sleeve t-shirt from the goodwill for 99 cents and used an old dress-up Spiderman mask we had at the house and hot glued the strips all over. I had to cut eye-holes on the mask. The mask was a little tricky but I like the way it turned out.
This Mummy Costume was very warm and we got a lot of compliments on it. I was very happy with the way this costume looked, also it was easy for my son to move around in and it kept him very warm. This was my first year making a homemade costume, I will be doing it again next year, it saved me a lot of money!
