Coolest Mummy DIY Costume

This Mummy DIY Costume was fun to make!! I already had a pair of white dress pants that were too short on my son, but worked for this costume, and I had a white polo that I used as the background for this costume.

I took a a gallon bucket and really hot water and a few tea bags and let them steep for 5 minutes or so, then I removed the tea bags and soaked a white bedsheet in the water for like 4 hours. This gave it a tattered, old look to the sheet. Then I cut 1 inch slits in the bottom of the sheet and ripped the strips the rest of the way, this gave it a tattered look. I then just basically used these strips and strategically placed them around the clothes and crossways, just any manner will work, the messier the better!!

I used a safety pin here and there so he wouldn’t “fall” apart as the night went on. Next I had him put on the pants and shirt and wherever any of the white color of the underclothes were showing I wrapped more strips and let some hang loose. I then took a tea soaked cheesecloth and wrapped his head, arms and neck and placed it anywhere else that I saw necessary. I then used white costume paint on his face and hands and mixed a little black in to make a grey color and used around the eyes!

Total cost $6 ( and that was basically for the cheesecloth..those things are expensive!!)
