I wanted to make my daughter something unique for Halloween, so I came up with this peacock costume! I purchased a plain black leotard and sewed a feather boa around neck and wristbands. I also sewed two peacock feathers on bust area and a sequin band running down the front. For skirt I made a tutu of black and turquoise tulle. For large back feather, I cut a large half circle out of cardboard, painted it black and hand glued black feathers to the entire board. I stuck actual peacock feathers around the top of the board so they would stick up and also placed a few throughout. Hairpiece is a black feather sewed on to an alligator clip.
