My boys wanted to be Phineas & Ferb this year. I usually make their costumes & this didn’t sound as hard as last year’s Rockem Sockem Robots!
They were very inexpensive to make. Heads for Phineas & Ferb are shaped foam board & covered in fabric I found on clearance. Hair for both is stuffed felt & eyeballs are styrofoam. Found Ferb’s pants & shirt at a consignment shop for $3 & altered them to look like him.
Phineas’ shirt is made from two for $5 t-shirts bought at a craft store. My son had blue cargo shorts & both boys had sneakers that were ideal.
Perry the Platypus AKA Agent “P” is wearing a sweatsuit. His head & gloves are made from an XL sweatsuit top. All 3 pieces were $18. Bill, feet & tail are felt. Eyes are styrofoam & hat from craft store. Tail is worn around waist by a belt. Felt on feet are wrapped around sneakers with elastic.
That’s it! For these Phineas, Ferb and Perry Costumes we won a 3rd place trophy in our town’s 74th Annual Halloween Parade! Enjoy!
love it!!!!!!!!!!

Do you still have the Phineas costume? My daughter really, really, really wants to be Phineas and costumes sold out everywhere. I am not that crafty either. I would LOVE to buy it from you! Please comment back to this site and I will check it. thx!
Your costume is great. How you have the measurements for the masks? What size, how much fabric? Thanks
Great costumes. Do you have the measurements for the masks? Thanks
Hi Lori
Thank you for your interest in the Phineas costume. I can appreciate it when your child wants to be a character & no one has it!
I’m sorry I can’t sell you the costume. We are going to Disney & the kids are going to wear them there. The clothes are very simple to put together…it’s the head that has to be “made”.I will gladly give you step-by-step instructions (not very hard).Where are you located? I will help you make it or post your email & I will send you all the details.
Again, thank you & I hope it all works out for you!
Jackie
Hi Jill
I’m glad you liked the costumes!
Sorry I didn’t take measurements of the heads when I made them.I just winged it!Hot glued some white foamboard pieces together! For Phineas fold them into a triangle for the proper shape. When the triangle can easily fit over the persons head, hot glue together.Place it next to persons head to mark out neck & mouth holes to cut.Cover with flesh colored fabric. For both heads, stuff felt for hair,Styrofoam balls with google eyes sewn onto headpieces.Phineas’ eyebrows are red twist ties suspended on wire.Ferbs nose is foamboard pieces.Inside each is a cheap baseball cap (w/out brim)to hold head on steady.Phineas’ shirt is 2 tshirts from craft store sewn together to make stripes & regular blue cargo shorts.Ferb’s clothes are from consignment shop & altered to look like his outfit.Sneakers are knockoff Converse.Agent P is a sweatsuit.Head made from xlarge shirt w/baseball cap inside.Send me your email for more details if you want.If you’re local I would be glad to help! Thank you! Jackie
Love your costume for agent P. Could you please send me instructions on how you made it. I don’t quite get the head part. I will check back on this site for your reply
If you have step by step instructions to make a Perry costume for a 5 year old — I would love them! My daughter wants to be Agent P, but I don’t see anything but the dress…Thanks!

Hi Christalee & Mindi
Thank you for your interest in the Perry/Agent P costume.Glad you liked it!
I bought a sweatsuit top/bottom in appropriate color/size & an addtn’l XL top to make the headpiece/gloves.Cut the XL top sleeves off & use bottom of sleeve where cuffs are to make/sew gloves(was hard to do!).Use the neckline from XL top for bottom of headpiece to rest around person’s neck.Cut/sew a large oval from the XL top’s chest/back part leaving the neckline open.I cut the brim off a cheap baseball cap to use inside headpiece & rest on the person’s head. You need to put fiberfill stuffing on top of cap before inserting inside the head to raise up for Perry’s eye placement.Hot glue cap inside & hot glue fedora hat on top (outside).Put piece on person to mark where their eyes are.Cut eye holes out where person needs them then hot glue Styrofoam balls with fake eyeballs onto fedora brim & headpiece above eye holes(eye holes underneath balls). For “bill” cut shape from 2 pieces of orange foam board making bottom piece slightly smaller so when you hot glue them together the top piece puffs up a bit.Cut 3rd piece of foam board into “nose” shape & hot glue on top of bill piece.Hot glue tab of nose shape between eyes on headpiece & glue around bill to secure in place.Make sure person can see out of eye holes because bill & eyeballs can obstruct their vision! Once bill is in right place cut “breathing hole” out of shirt behind bill.Tail is 2 large pieces of tan “stiff” felt with brown puffy paint lines hot glued together & stuffed with fiberfill.Cut 2 small holes on both sides of base to insert a belt.Wear around waist under sweatshirt.Cut webbed feet shapes from regular orange felt & sew elastic strips to sides to wear around shoes.Glue black felt “eyebrows” onto brim of fedora.I hope this makes sense!Just ask if you have any questions!
Good luck & enjoy!
I would love more detail to make these as well. You did a terrific job! kristinecjones@gmail.com
Thank you Kristine! I hope the above instructions help you make the costumes. I tried to make them as detailed as possible. Sorry it took long to answer…I was having issues with my email!
Good luck!
Jackie

I would love to have any additional instructions on shaping these heads. Did you take any pictures of how you did it? These are truely one of a kind!
