We dressed her up as a puppy by using a black sweatshirt and adding patches of faux fur, white and brown. We added faux fur ears as well and then the rest in black (shoes & pants).
We got a box and covered it with brown paper after poking holes into it that will hold the ropes that go on the shoulders of the child. We then bought stuffed puppies (4 of them) and glued them in the box with their heads popping out and added a collar and painted her face.
