My daughter in her Homemade Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas Costume. We started with a plain dark gray dress from Goodwill. I bought different fabric pieces for the patches like Sally’s dress. I couldn’t find the exact fabric so I improvised.
The large spots on the teal fabric were done by me with a sharpie. I outlined a glass and filled them in, same for the bright pink fabric, plain fabric, with the bold, black stripes were done by sharpie. I attached the fabric to the dress using a fabric glue. Once they were all on, I added the stitch marks – again with a sharpie.
Sheer white tights, with sharpie stitches drawn on, some striped socks crumpled down and black shoes – all purchased at Goodwill. Love that store for all the cool finds! The stitch marks on her arms and chest were also sharpie, hard to get off, but worth it.
I purchased the rag doll wig which came with pony tails, and just took the rubber bands out so it hung free. Some pale white make up and the signature Sally eyelashes and more stitches on her face, with the red lips, and it was complete!
She looked awesome and since her brother went as Jack it was perfect!
Very talented individual that made this! Looked great!
