Coolest Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc Gang Costume

We decided on the Homemade Scooby Doo and the Mystery Inc Gang Costume for our Halloween costumes this year. A month and a half of scouring Good Will and The Salvation Army produced most of the clothing for the costumes.

Velma dyed a white sweater and knee socks orange so they would match. A brown wig and red Mary Jane shoes and a pleated red skirt finished her outfit.

Daphne found a 1980, padded shoulder drape dress. She shortened, beribboned and redraped the dress with contrasting lavender ribbon. She also spray painted a pair of white boots lavender to match the ribbon. A lavender headband and red wig finished her outfit.

Shaggy found his brown crushed velvet pants in the women’s section at the thrift store. He cut a long brown wig into a shag and found a green tee shirt to finish his outfit.

Freddie found both his pants and white sweater at the thrift store along with a pair of $1 loafers.

Scooby sewed his outfit from a pattern and stuffed his head and tail.

Hopefully, we’ll do well in the local contests. Taken altogether, the effect is quite good. I love Halloween!
