I knew I wanted to make this Homemade Sexy Peacock Costume a few months before Halloween. I had ordered the corset online. The tutu, is two tutus put together, and I had glued some of the peacock feathers onto the tutu. For the peacock tail I ordered a plain black feather fan. I had to sew on black satin fabric around the plastic part so that the fan would stay opened. I then ordered the teal and purple peacock feathers. I changed up my colors to be different from the normal peacock feather colors. I cut the feathers to the lengths that I wanted then hot glued them onto the back of the fan.
To attach the tail onto the corset I used Velcro. I would recommend just sewing the tail on the corset to ensure that it will last the whole night. I also got a masquerade mask and tweaked it to match my costume perfectly. My boyfriend also got a masquerade mask, this way we turned the costume into a couples costume.
It’s safe to say my costume was a hit and I shook my tail feather all over Atlantic City.
