Cool Tampons Costume

Well, I wanted to be different, shocking without too gross, funny and spend less than $30. I ended up spending $21 and winning a lot more.

Needed:
Big Box – free
Blue poster board (1-3 sheets) – $1 each at $1 store
Clear or white contact paper – 4 rolls – $3/roll
1 bundle of heavy yarn – $2
Blue, White, Red & Black Paint – $10 set
Batting (pillow filler) – $3
White turtleneck – had it

First, my husband and I got a dishwasher box, and I painted it blue. Then we cut out a hole for the arms & head. (Leave the flaps in tact!)

Next, I took two blue poster boards. Using a real box of Tampax, I drew on the poster boards to replicate the front back of the real box.
Then, I took the contact paper, and formed a circle, taking off just enough of the sticky part to make a perfect circle. I filled each one with batting. This forms the tampons. You mount them on the top of the box with a glue gun or tape. Leave one for your “hat”.

Last, I took the yarn and braided it and tied it to my waist. It kinda hung out of the box all day.

Your arms will be sore, sort of like having crutches, but it will be worth winning any contest!

  2. Okay…how in the heck did you get anywhere? Did you have to put the costume on when you got there? I’m doing something similar and I don’t know how it’s going to fit in my car!

  5. I had a more simple, a white tights with a cord sewn coming down to the ground, a white shirt and a red hood . A Tampax on the third day of “work”!
