Coolest Toy Story Alien DIY Costume

For my 18th birthday I had a costume party and it was cartoon character themed. I decided to go as one of the Aliens from the claw in the popular movie “Toy Story”.

I made the Toy Story alien DIY costume by using mesh wire and moulding it into the shape I wanted using wire cutting scissors and cable ties. Be careful if you try to do something like this yourself as the mesh wire is very sharp so try and use gloves at all times. After I was happy with the overall shape I covered the mesh in newspaper and pva glue to strengthen the head and give me a base to paint on. I did about 4 layers of this.

Once that had all dried I began to paint the head, first the white of the eyes and after that the head itself with a couple of layers of green paint.

Finally I went into detail with felt tip markers for the eye pupils etc.

The suit is just some blue trousers and a jumper. I made a space command badge and stuck it on the jumper as well.
