I made this Homemade Travelocity Roaming Gnomette Adult Halloween Costume. It is super easy to put this costume together and most of the items I purchased at the Dollar store or Goodwill, or had in my closet.
Here is a list of the items you will need:
1 Black Skirt
1 Blue shirt or sweater
1 black belt
Black tights and boots
Glue Gun
Hat:
Needle and Thread
Enough Red Material to make a cone
Batting to stuff it
3 Hair clips and silk flowers
Make a cone by cutting and sewing a single seam with the red material (make sure that the opening at the end of the cone fits your head down to the middle of your forehead). Stuff it with the batting. Hot glue blue flowers to 3 plain hair clips.
Mushroom & stem:
Large plastic Candy Cane purchased at the dollar store
White or cream colored fabric & Maroon fabric (pillow cases from Goodwill)
Large wicker semi-bowl (I went looking for a mushroom shaped something at Goodwill)
Cut 2 strips out of the the white pillow case and wrap it around the candy cane or dowel rod and hot glue it so that it is secure. Set aside.
Cut a hole large enough for the end of the candy cane covered with the material (or a dowel rod) into the middle of the wicker bowl. Put it in the wicker bowl into the maroon pillow case. Then hot glue the fabric down around the edges folding the fabric around the edge so that it looks like the bottom of a mushroom.
Cut different shape circles out of the remaining white material and hot glue them onto the mushroom top. Put hot glue into the center hole and secure the stem.
