This Homemade White Trash Bride and Groom Costume idea originated from CMT’s “White Trash Wedding”. The bride found her wedding dress and veil in the closet of a close family member. She created her bouquet from artificial flowers found at a local department store. She crushed beer cans and slid them onto the stems. Her pregnant belly was created using a pillow stuffed into her dress.
The groom tore the sleeves off of an old flannel shirt and old suit jacket found at the Salvation Army. A homemade “Old Style” tattoo was created by pen on the groom’s arm. To top the costume off, the groom grew a beard and creatively shaved the day of the costume contest. The couple added “Just Married” decorations to the back of their costumes to add to the “white trash” stereotype. The groom’s sign says, “Just married (but still available)”. They tied strings to beer cans and hung them from the signs. Both the bride and groom found their wigs at a local department store.
