I love Halloween. So I had to think really hard on what my daughter and I were going to be. I finally came up with this idea. I love sunflowers and autumn and stuff so much that this Witch Halloween costume was perfect. I wanted my daughter and I to match. So this worked out perfectly.
I had a long sleeve black shirt that was fitted already. I ordered my daughter a black leotard off eBay for $2.00. I bought us both some black leggings from Wal-mart, to go under our skirts. I then got some black costume satin, and orange and green tulle. How many yards you get depend on how full you want the skirt.
I cut the costume satin to fit as a skirt, and gathered the waist to fit, so I didn’t have to put in elastic. My mother helped me sew this part. I then sewed the tulle in strips all the way around the skirt. I gathered it as I sewed. I bought a black feather boa from a fabric store and hand stitched it around the waist of both skirts, so you wouldn’t see my crappy sewing job.
On the shirts and hats I hot glued fall leaves and sunflowers that I already had from my wedding. I bent the hats a little to look more fashionable instead of just a round hat. I bought black flat shoes from the dollar store, and my daughter wore orange shoe covers that I bought to go over her dress shoes. I also bought a black witches cauldron from the dollar store, and hot glued sunflowers and fall leaves on it for her trick or treat bucket.
Total cost: around $35.00 for both together.
