Coolest Wonder Woman Costume

My brother, who is the one dressed as Batman, is a huge Batman and Robin fan. He had read in wizard magazine about a contest for homemade costumes and he wanted to enter it.

First it started as him and my son Blake, as Robin, then be talked me into being Wonder Woman. We thought this would be fairly easy and cheap but turns out it was not easy or cheap. We don’t know how to sew besides by hand.

My husband’s grandma made the capes. We bought my boots and Robins gloves and everything else we hot glued. We tried really hard to match exactly to the 1966 authentic costumes.

At times I wanted to throw my hands up but we finally finished and swore never again!

  2. Very difficult to do, mine took so long last year I decided to do it again this year. Last year I spent 6 weeks and was still sewing as I was walking out the door. Now this year I’m reworking last years quick fixes and I have about 10-20 hrs work to do on it. My best advice to you is go to a craft store and buy the Iron on stitching for hemming it might be called Stich Witchery…

  4. OMG!!! Those are the most authentic looking costumes I have yet to see. Next Saturday is my families 5th annual Halloween party and I wanted to be Wonder Woman, however, I can’t find a costume worth paying 50-80 bucks on. Thus I came up with the idea to make my own, and I was just wondering where did you get the layouts or patterns for the wonder woman costume? Your feedback is highly appreciated.

    Thank You,

  6. Wow that is fantastic.
I am attending an event trying to break the world record for the number of superheroes in one place. I really want a great WonderWoman outfit not one of these shop bought types.
Can you tell me if you have a pattern for this – or if by chance you would sell yours?

    Thanks

  9. Awesome costumes! I like that these are true to the original shows and they are decent, not sleazy like a lot of them today. Superwoman’s cape is totally awesome!!

  10. I make authentic costumes and would like to say GREAT JOB and yes the huge WW cape is the bomb. I know how hard and expensive and the huge amount of hours spent on just one article of an intricate costume can be so buyers should understand great costumes aren’t cheap. The cheap ones are the sleazy/light wight internet costumes. You can’t sell anything as good as this cheap! Great Job and great job grandma on the capes. Props

  12. What were your replies to others who were suitably impressed with your costumes? I have to go to a party one month from now as Wonder Woman and it’s hard to match your costume! Do you ship to Australia? :)

  13. Hi, were going to have a costume party for the anniversary of our company, and I thought of going for Wonder Woman, how can I make or buy one just as the same as your. The problem with online sellers is that they have already enhanced it and it takes the whole picture of the exact costume. please email me at allycialexa@yahoo.com. Thank you
