I made this Pipi Longstocking costume for my 3-year-old crazy daughter. I thought Pippi was a good fit for her since she is so silly. We went to the zoo, her favorite place, for Halloween this year and everyone thought it was adorable and unique since Pippi isn’t that popular.
The jean dress is from Goodwill (Old Navy brand) which was hemmed a little shorter and the leggings are both from Walmart. I cut off one leg of each legging so she had one legging on each leg. My mom had some extra fabric at home so we sewed them on as patches. It was super simple and super cheap to make.
The hair was the hardest part to get just right. I practiced the day before and was nervous about if it would work or not. We put two pipecleaners in each pigtail. I just braided the pipe cleaners in. I used LOTS and LOTS of hairspray! Her favorite part was the orange spray paint hair which washed down the drain very easily (also from Walmart).
