This costume cost was less than $40 a person. The first step is to figure out which person is going to be which turtle. The shorts were a quick and cheap find at sports authority. We found multiple green shirt/tank top options at Old Navy (also cheap).
Here comes the crafty part!
Picked up the colored fabric (red/blue/purple/orange/and yellow shells) the shell fabric consisted of vinyl table cloth. I used a roasting pan cover as a template to cut the shells. I then sowed the “shell like” texture like a six pack first then sowed around the shell to the shirt.
I was able to just rip the fabric to create the arm, wrist and leg bands. We purchase our ack “shells” as small garbage can lids from the dollar store and a Ninja fighting kit from the Halloween store (the most expensive thing we bought). It had all the weapon
