This is my Chihuahua, Syri, dressed up as the Snuggles fabric softener bear. This easy, cheap Snuggle Bear costume was really easy and cheap to make. First, I bought 1/4 yard of off-white fuzzy material at a fabric store. I cut a rectangle for the body, a hood, and ears then hand sewed it all together. To make the bear tail, I cut a circle out of the fabric, hand stitched along the edge, put a small amount of fiber fill in the middle, then pulled the thread tight and tied off. I used fabric glue to attach the tail puff to the bottom of the costume. I glued tan felt to the ears to look like the inside of the ear. This also helped the ears stand up. Finally, I cut circles out for front leg holes.
With the costume finished, I just sat her in a white laundry basket with blue towels and an empty Snuggles bottle. Syri was a hit at my preschool class’ Halloween party in her super cute costume!
