My friend and I really wanted to wear tutu’s to a Halloween party this year! We did some internet searching and decided to be Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee. This costume was super easy to create and basically required no sewing. Oh and I forgot to mention cheap! The cost to make each costume was around $20.
We found plain yellow t-shirts at the thrift store and red leggings at the mall. The tutu’s were a no sew pattern made by slip knotting red tulle onto red ribbon to fit your waist. We then used white binding tape which was glued with fabric glue to our shirts. The only element of the costume that required sewing was our bow ties. We found the blue sequin fabric at a fabric store and cut the fabric into a rectangle sewing inside out to create a pouch. When the rectangle was turned to the right side it stuffed with batting and the final edge was stitched shut.
To finish the bow tie gold ribbon was tied around the center of the rectangle. A propeller hat from the costume store finished our look!
