My husband and I had a blast dressing up as aliens from the classic 1988 movie They Live. I was nervous no one would recognize our costumes but we had plenty of people come up to us and say, “I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass… and I’m all out of bubblegum.”
Our faces were painted with Mehron Paradise Paint in blue, white, red and black.
The Glasses were constructed from Harry Potter glasses and plastic Easter eggs. After hot gluing the egg half to the glasses, We used silver, black and red paint to decorate the glasses.
I also made the teeth of our costume with liquid latex, fake nails and red paint and followed directions that I found on YouTube. Go to YouTube and search for “How to Make Inexpensive SFX Teeth”.
Best part of this costume is that these Aliens dress in everyday clothes. You can wear whatever you fancy from own closet. We did thrift store shop for our wigs to make it stand out more but that is optional.
