Codex, a character from the web series The Guild was initially purchased as a licensed “bagged ” costume but was of such low quality that I couldn’t bear to wear it. So I deconstructed the entire thing, threw away virtually every piece of decoration and notions, and rebuilt it using the white material from the dress and the brown strips for the legs wraps along with all new everything else. It took me several weeks to complete and earned me much respect at the venues we visited for Halloween, though we didn’t participate in any competitions.
The actual shoes on my feet and the satin corset were bought ready-made but everything else (including the corset decorations) came off my sewing machine.
