Hilarious Madea Costume

I came up with the idea for this Madea costume from watching several different Tyler Perry movies. I have been wanting to do it for the past 3 year, but have never succeeded in doing it. Finally this year, I was able to do it.

I went to a local thrift store to pick up my big, old fashion looking purse. The wig came from a K-mart in my area. I could not find “the perfect” gray Madea wig anywhere, so I bought a blonde wig from Kmart and sprayed it with gray hair spray to give it that Madea look. The earrings came from Walmart along with the night gown, red lipstick, and over-the-calf socks.

I looked everywhere to try to find a big woman shoe that looked good (My men shoe size is 13-15), but did not find any. So, I ended up buying these plain, black joe boxer shoes from K-mart as well. My pearl necklace came from a close friend of mine. I aslo could not find a good looking toy gun anywhere, due to all these killings over fake guns. I finally went to Kim’s import store and found a little airsoft gun for $3. The way I made the boobs was by buying a 44 DD bra fron K-mart again and stuffing it with two muscle shirts per boob.

I went to a friend’s party and everyone loved it. Everyone wanted to take a picture with me or take one of me. Every time I walked into a different room of people, they would all just crack up laughing saying, “MADEA!!” My response was either, “Heller!” or “Shut the hell urp!!” Everyone just kept saying they loved my costume, or I had the best costume. I ended up winning best costume at her party.

I thought that my costume was gonna be cheap, but due to how big I am and how expensive stuff is, I ended up spending more than a normal costume. I spent a grand total of $76.
