I asked my eight year old son what he wanted to be for Halloween and was amazed and worried when he said, “A LEGO GUY”. Huh, how was I going to pull this off. I quickly went to my friend Google and started to see how others had managed. As I started thinking about the boxes and duct tape and other necessary items, my son came back and said not any lego guy mom, I want to be “Clutch Powers”. Great-even better. Luckily with some help of creative family members we were able to duplicate Clutch Powers. He is kind of an adventure Lego Indiana Jones. So with cardboard tubes attached to gloves and painted yellow we had the all important lego hands. We used kleenex boxes spray painted blue for his boxy feet and black hair color spray to dye his hair. Although Clutch Powers doesn’t actually wear a LEGO shirt we thought the emblem on the front would shake off some of those confused looks he might get later. So with some red and black iron on vinyl we were able to make his white shirt into an official LEGO shirt. We added blue jeans and a brown leather jacket and we were set. We even had a homemade candy bag w/ holder made so that we could just set it in his LEGO hands! This costume turned out to be a big hit with the other little boys in the neighborhood and made my son one happy boy.
