Homemade Edward Scissorhands Costume

This Halloween I dressed up as Edward Scissorhands. I had a left over black PVC catsuit from a previous Halloween costume that i wore and then made some modifications. I bought a black pvc corset to go over the catsuit instead of wearing all the buckles around my waist. I had been collecting belts for a month and tied them around my legs and on top of my bust. I purchased some zippers and glue gunned them onto the sleeves of my costume. The costume was very hard to get into so i had to lie on the floor and my friend Katie had to lace me up. For the hands I printed off a scissor hand template and cut them out on brown cardboard. I then covered them in a shiny metallic duct tape and the handle part was black marker covered with glued on black sequins. I attached them to my hands by making cardboard rings for each individual finger and then glue gunning the scissors to the rings which allowed me the use of my hands (somewhat). I sprayed my hair with black hairspray and teased crimped and back combed until it was huge and messy, then i pinned up half of my hair using bobby pins and a LOT of hairspray. I got my make up and scars done by a professional make up artist and my scars were raised. I had purchased lace eyelashes to give my Edward a more feminine touch. It was a lot of fun and sexy at the same time. Over all the costume probably took about 15 hours and cost me around 200$.
