My husband and I decided to go as scarcrows to match the halloween pumkin costume my son already had. We went through our closets and to the thrift store to get the core of our costume. We also picked up some fabric and straw from the craft store to make the costumes complete.
I cut out patches of the fabric and sewed them on the clothes. I then took felt and cut it to look like straw. I glued strips of straw on top of the felt and placed then under the sleeves and pants. Next I made my husband’s hat out of the felt fabric and sewed straw under the hat. I made an apron out of the scraps of fabric for my costumes. Finally, I made our neck piece out of felt fabric to complete the scarecrow look. Our costumes cost us less than $20 for the two of us.
