Ice Cream Peddler Costume

This costume was a GIANT hit! It was easy, cheap, unique and super fun to make. I used real ice cream cones with a coat of white glue inside to strengthen them. Styrofoam balls glued on top as the ice cream, coated with light weight spackle and painted to look like various flavors (added better, coffee grounds, etc. for details). We made a light weight tray with ribbon so she could carry them without effort. The outfit was dress pants, dress shirt, bow tie and paper Soda Jerk hat made from wrapping paper. The amount of attention from the cones was hysterical. They cost about $5 to make, took a 1-2 hours total to glue, plaster and paint. I used hot pink satin, pink wrapping paper to make it more girly.
