Last-minute Hobbit Costume for a College Girl

As a fan of Lord of the Rings, I enjoy dressing as various characters to go trick-or-treating, as well as to go to the premieres of the movies. I’ve worn this particular costume a lot: two premieres and one Halloween.

Basically, it’s just a white peasant blouse, a bustier from Wet Seal, a bustled skirt that my mother made for me as a Christmas gift one year, a black hooded jacket, and a cloak I picked up from a costume shop.

I’d ordered a Leaf of Lorien cloak clasp, but it hadn’t come in yet, so I improvised with duct tape, green nail polish, and a silver Sharpie.

And obviously, I couldn’t go barefoot (as much as I would have loved to), so I ended up wearing brown flip flops. Thankfully, it was about 50 degrees out, so it was nice enough.
