Make Your Own Car Costume

I got this costume idea from another Coolest-Homemade-Costume submitter. They made the original version of this and I wanted to share my version of it… and prove that with a little elbow grease it’s possible to recreate these great costumes on this site!

My son is obsessed (to say the least) with Hot Wheels cars. He wanted to BE a Hot Wheel for Halloween. I looked on this site and found a great idea and went with it. His car is similar to the original except we did such things as add Hot Wheels logos, his own personalized license plate etc. We also did the working headlights (flashlights) and shiny glitter taillights like the original submitter suggested.

To Make Your Own Car Costume we took a box, cut it down to the right size (it took some creativity to alter the box). Then we added all the details.

My son won first place at his school Halloween party!
