This is our family trick-or-treat – for the local food pantry every year to help out those families in need (we have been doing this for many years). Each year I come up with a new theme and then I hand sew each of the costumes we wear because its just another way of saying thank you to all those people who donate the food.
This particular year I thought it would be cute to be MR. & MRS. POTATO HEAD. I did not want it to be plain so I decided to make it in a 3-D type form so the costume would really stand out. I also chose to make hats to cover our heads so it would be more authentic to the actual toy. What you can’t really see on the costume was the individual detail of the potatoes having little eye roots beginning, because remember the very original Mr. Potato head was just parts you would push into an actual potato.
As usual we had rave reviews & many compliments from people on how they liked the costume and that they admire people who create & make their own costumes, compared to those who purchase them.
