Every year we dress up as a family for Halloween. This year was no different and so it took us a while to figure out what we would dress up as but we knew it had to be good. My 8 year old son was watching old cartoons and singing the Scooby Doo song and I knew we had to dress up as the Scooby Doo Gang. With not a lot of of time or money these costumes would be perfect.
This costume was super easy. I found some wigs and a few pieces off of eBay. We just needed to create the gang because we already had a Scooby Doo in the house. So we needed to dress up as the gang to complete the look. My son chose Fred and assigned the cat the Velma costume. Then we added my sons favorite toy and some old clothes he had and we had our outfits!
Halloween night it took us less than 10 minutes to get dressed up. My son’s outfit included navy blue bell bottoms, old white sweater and an ascot tie. He already had an old blue button down shirt so we just added it to the outfit.
The only real problem we had was with our cat. My cat is always a huge part of our dress up every Halloween. This year I used a doll wig and an old pair of American Doll glasses. We also put him in an old orange baby shirt that fit him perfectly. We had a blast quoting Scooby Doo lines from the show. We received a lot of wonderful compliments on the family outfit. People especially loved my son’s Fred outfit. Both adults and kids alike seemed to enjoy seeing Scooby and the Gang. We spent very little money on the outfits and wigs. And the assembly was super easy.
