This is the best female Steampunk Mad Hatter costume ever! I was given the steampunk hat and the knee high boots for Christmas and everything else was home made.
We went thrift store shopping, found a brown dress and a men’s black suit jacket. We altered the suit jacket by attaching safety pins in two lines on the back of the jacket and used some brown silk that matched the dress to lace up the back and give it a fitted look. I found a kids tea set at the dollar store and used them for the accessories. Made costumes for all my friends that were also from Alice in Wonderland, all together we had eight characters including the Hatter, Alice, Queen of hearts, White Queen, March Hare, Cheshire Cat and two card guards.
All together it took 6 months to build all the costumes and we came in first place at our local bar for best group costumes.
