Sexy Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Costumes on a Budget

Here’s how to make a Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum costume – the right way!

Every year my best friend and I dress up in matching Halloween costumes. This was our last Halloween together in college, so it had to be the best. Because we were on a student budget we decided to make our costumes from scratch. We both love Disney and decided to make tweedle-dee and tweedle-dum costumes from Alice in Wonderland.

It is super easy and affordable to make for any budget. You can change or add what you would like to make it your own, but this is how we made our costume. We bought red tutus, blue bow ties, and red trucker hats from amazon for around $20 with shipping and handling for the each of us. The yellow shirt was from forever 21, but I’m sure you can find a long sleeve yellow shirt anywhere. The hardest part for us was making the hats. We could not figure out a way to keep the flag standing up right. We tried so many different way to keep the flag up straight. What finally worked was we wrapped a blue pipe wire around a wooden skewer for the base of the flag. For the flag we cut a triangle shape out of yellow glitter paper and glued it to the top of the stick. From there we cut a hole at the top of the hat and and inserted the stick and twisted the left over pipe wire to keep the flag from falling. It took us a couple of tries before we got it right. For our tops all we did was glue the bow ties onto the front using fabric glue. We were so happy with the final result, it definitely exceeded our expectations. The best part was everyone noticing who we were at the Halloween party, and all the compliments weren’t so bad either.
