Coolest Homemade Skeletor Costume Idea

Originally was going to do Thundercats but kept seeing the skull mask in different stores. Going off the theme of a childhood cartoon I chose Skeletor and Evil Lynn, a masters of the universe costume. The mask is the only item bought and worn as is. It was the foam kind that glued down to my face so it actually moved when I spoke or moved my face. Very realistic!

The remainder was material purchased from Joann’s Fabrics. All hand sewn. (I can’t use a sewing machine). I started in early October so I would be ready by Halloween. The hardest part was probably the blue paint on my skin it took about eight cans of the blue hairspray color. (Was a devil getting off, have some bathroom cleaner and a lot of patience).

The horns on the leg pieces were made of Styrofoam. The havoc staff was Styrofoam skull that I glued. The horns are also hand made.

I used the flashing lights for its eyes. Overall I was pretty pleased with the end result. I recruited a buddy to play the part of evil Lynn. I wanted her to look a little stronger in person than a girl. His boots hurt his feet. But he looked good.

Total Spent: $100
