Being a family of 6 who has always loved Halloween we have had to become pretty creative in our ability to pull off the right look.
The Gargoyle costume you see here starting with the feet was made with an old pair of boots and an old pair of werewolf gloves. I cut the rubber part of the gloves off, pulled off all the hair, cut off two of the fingers on each glove. Then I sewed and glued the hands onto my boots. Then painted them to get just the right look.
The wings were bought but I added the back piece on to cover up the black cloth part of the wings. I found what I think were pieces of a children’s armor costume and cut it to the sizes I wanted then painted and sewed them onto the back.
I also made the leg pieces the same way but took elastic so I could just pull them up onto my legs. I used a regular baldy cap for my head. I pre-painted it the same colors as the body pieces . This was hard as painting on latex is not as easy as it seems. I did go through two baldy caps before I got the look I was going for.
I did the same with the ears. They were just regular elf ears that I bought at a Halloween store and then painted. I used a Spiderman costume underneath my gargoyle outfit to give me the look of a big strong chest and muscles on my arms.
I ordered the color contacts with the help of our optometrist and Voila! I turned out to make this amazing Gargoyle costume come to life.
